In the early stages of the German economic miracle, the demand for inexpensive and versatile transport vehicles had already skyrocketed, so Volkswagen began production of the so-called VW Type 2 in 1950. Affectionately known as the "VW Bulli" by its many fans, this all-rounder developed into the outstanding packhorse of the economic upswing in Germany in the 1950s. Whether as a closed panel van, as a platform truck, as a bus or as a luxury bus in the so-called "Samba version", the VW T1 was convincing in all its areas of use due to its high technical reliability and high utility value. An excellently developed Volkswagen dealer and service network also ensured exceptional customer satisfaction and a wide distribution of the VW Transporter among small, medium-sized and larger companies. Its appealing and unmistakable design also contributed to the VW Bulli's current cult status.
